This is the Way | The Way of Seeing Jesus

« Back to Beyond the Message

Summary of this week’s material: Jesus taught His disciples IN THE WAY, as they journeyed ALONG THE WAY to the cross where He would BECOME THE WAY!

How to use it: After watching/listening to this week’s message, from April 17, 2022, use the questions to go deeper into the message, with your group…or on your own. The questions will introduce you to the topic, reflect content from the sermon, go ‘Beyond the Message’, & get you thinking about practical applications for your life.

  1. Do you recall a favourite show & tell moment? Why do you think kids love show & tell?

  2. Read Luke 24:13-35 and answer the following questions:

    1. What did these men believe about Jesus? What had these men heard & seen? Why do you think they were confused? (v.13-24)

    2. What did Jesus show & tell them about himself? (v.25-27)

    3. Why do you think they finally recognized Jesus while sharing the meal? (v.28-31)

    4. At what point did they start to experience the presence of Jesus? What did they “show & tell” after recognizing Jesus? (v.32-35)

  3. Read John 20:24-29 and answer the following questions.

    1. Thomas had repeatedly heard what would happen to Jesus (Mark 8:31-32, 9:31, 10:33-34) and seen these events takes place. Why do you think he refused to believe?

    2. What does Jesus mean when he says, “blessed are those who believe without seeing?”

  4. Who first shared the Good News about Jesus with you?

    1. How did you first respond? What feelings did it create inside you (warmth, doubts, fear, curiosity)?

    2. At what point did you begin the “see” Jesus in your life? How did you know?

    3. What changes in your life after? Do you show & tell others about Jesus?

  5. Read Hebrews 11:1 and 12:2. How can these verses help us if we have questions and doubts?

  6. Spend some time in prayer asking to see Jesus in Life this week, and for opportunities to “show & tell” him to others this week?
