Habakkuk | A Question of Faith

How to use it: After watching/listening to this week’s message, from May 29, 2022, use the questions to go deeper into the message, with your group…or on your own. The questions will introduce you to the topic, reflect content from the sermon, go ‘Beyond the Message’, & get you thinking about practical applications for your life.

  1. Read Habakkuk 1:2-4.

    1. How would you describe Habakkuk’s mood in this passage?

    2. Describe a time when you have had similar feelings. In those moments, did you have this kind of honest conversation with God? Why or why not?

  2. Read Habakkuk 1:6, 12-13.

    1. Why do you think Habakkuk felt so shocked by God’s response?

    2. When and where do you see injustices like these in the world today?

    3. Describe a time when you felt an injustice similar to Habakkuk’s.

  3. Read Habakkuk 2:1.

    1. How hard do you think it must have been for Habakkuk to wait on God’s timing?

    2. In your past experiences, how has waiting on God’s timing affected your attitudes towards God and the circumstances?

    3. Is there some area of life where you are struggling to wait on God’s timing, frustrated by his answers or confused by his injustice?

    4. Do you have a natural tendency towards Positive Denial or Angry Rejection?

Take some time in the next few minutes to have an honest personal conversation with God about your struggles. (Remember…God has broad shoulders and a loving spirit. He is interested in what you have to say! Pray silently for a few minutes, then pray together as a group)
