Pastor411 | Week 1
How to use it: After watching/listening to this week’s message, from April 16, 2023, use the questions to go deeper into the message, with your group…or on your own. The questions will introduce you to the topic, reflect content from the sermon, go ‘Beyond the Message’, & get you thinking about practical applications for your life.
It’s a silly but a valid question: “Do you think Adam & Eve had belly buttons?” Why or why not? (ref: Gen 1:27; 2:7)
Do you think Adam & Eve were saved from their sins?
a. What are the requirements of salvation? (Rom 6:23; Eph 1:7; Heb 9:22)
b. What do the following verses suggest about Adam & Eve’s knowledge of God and their potential forgiveness? (Gen 3:15, 21; 4:25-26)
Is it ok for Christians to eat halal meat?
a. Have you, or would you, ever buy halal meat?
b. What would you do if you were invited to a dinner party and discovered that the host was serving halal meat?
c. This was a common situation and question among Christians in Corinth. Based upon Paul’s teaching in 1 Corinthians 8:4-6; 10:23-30, what should our response be to such situations?
The resurrection of Jesus was an amazing event and is understandably a difficult, yet central, tenet of the Christian faith. Read Pauls’ defense of this critical doctrine found in 1 Corinthians 15:1-11. If you we speaking to a person who was curious about Christianity, how would explain and defend the following:
a. Jesus’ death, burial, and the empty tomb (1 Cor 15:3-4; Matt 27:32-66; John 20:1-10; Matt 28:11-15)
b. The appearances of Jesus (1 Cor 15:5-8; John 20:19-29)
c. The enduring impact of Jesus (1 Cor 15:9-11; Matt 28:16-20)
